Aves antibodies come either as an "IgY fraction" (>90% pure antibody) or as an "affinity purified antibody" (100% pure antibody). The antibodies that detect and attach to the antigen molecule with a high affinity are present in the affinity purified product, whereas the IgY fraction product contains all the antibodies circulating in the hen at the time of egg formation. In order to use primary antibodies in immunoprecipitation (IP), chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP), or antigen purification procedures, we can mark them with biotin and different fluorochromes or conjugate them to agarose beads.
